When I had arrived in the US in 1990 Cronkite had been retired for 20 years, but despite that the man was a legend, and his presence was still felt. He was known as the "The Most Trusted Man in America" working for CBS.
His reports from the announcement of JFK's death, Vietnam, and the Moon. It was him who set the standard for honesty in reporting.
This man was a real Icon who will not get the attention that Michael Jackson had who spent the latter part of his life repudiating who he was!
Walter Cronkite, Integrity personified Rest in Peace, and Rise in Glory!
